Granny Karsteter : My grandma was the source of much joy in my family. She lived life fast, and she lived life well. We all think about her often.
When I was little, I tried to sneak one of her cigarettes. She caught me and sat me down at the kitchen table and made me smoke it until I was thoroughly nauseous. I never touched a cigarette again. The funniest part to this story is that she did the exact same thing to my mother when she was growing up. |

Typical Grandpa: This one was taken after my grandfather had finished off a six pack of his favorite beverage. My grandma is in the middle, but I have no idea what she's doing to the unidentified lady on the right.
Grandpa was famous for his practical jokes. He once bought a small alligator in Florida and brought it back to the house in East Saint Louis. He got in late, so he threw it in the tub and went to sleep. Grandma got up in the middle of the night for a drink of water and was scared out of her wits after she heard that alligator hiss and then turned on the light. It was too little to become a purse, so it went to the Saint Louis Zoo the next day. |

My dad passed away a couple of years ago. Mom was going through a box and found some pictures of him. I used this as an excuse to try out my new scanner. |
